Blog 5: Antiwar and It's Lack of Presence in Mainstream Media

After exploring both Antiwar.com and theamericanconservative.com, it became very clear as to why you don’t AND won’t hear or see any of this information on the mainstream news. Being a part of the anti war voices in America will portray you as a traitor to the country, or as a softie, but in reality it’s just people who are against war. It’s also pretty obvious as to why you would have to conduct such thorough searches in order to reach sites like these.

Mob Mentality

The main reason why you will never see information from these websites on mainstream news is simple, it is because the government controls what news you are given. These sites maintain stories that hurt America’s reputation, and I mean really hurt. Our government carries out and allows so many messed-up things to occur that it’s basically illegal. So the reason why you won’t see or hear about it is that they hide it from you. They purposely withhold certain information from the public, because let's be
honest, if they were to release and announce all the messed up things they have been doing, then the country would be in an uproar. The government is scared that people will come across these antiwar blogs and start to agree with them. The more people that are against war, the harder it would be for our country to declare it.

Scarce Sources

This ties into why it is so hard to search and find websites like these, that expose the country for what it is doing. For example, I could remember finding tons of articles and videos that talk about the controversy around 9/11, and claiming that it was an inside job. Fast forward to the present day and not one of those videos or articles can be found.
